We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented post-doctoral researcher to join our award-winning international research team "Machine Learning and Dialog Systems" at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

The position is fully funded by Prof. Milica Gasic' ERC Starting Grant project DYMO. It comes with a competitive salary determined by the collective agreement for public employees in Germany (EG 13 TV-L); it is full-time and carries no teaching duties.
The goal of the project is to develop the next generation of statistical dialog systems that are dynamically extensible in terms of their knowledge, management and generation. The project also involves building realistic user models and sophisticated reward mechanisms based on cutting edge machine learning and natural language processing methods.
The candidate must hold a PhD degree in natural language processing, machine learning or a related field. Excellent programming skills are essential. An ideal candidate would have some experience with dialog modelling.
The candidate should be fluent in English with good writing skills, as evidenced through publications at venues such as ACL, SIGDIAL or top-tier international conferences. Knowledge of German is not required.
The position is for 3 years.
Düsseldorf is a very cosmopolitan city. It is the capital of the most populous German state, nicely positioned on the Rhein river, with a beautiful old town as well as many other nice quarters.
